In simple words it means non-use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides and insecticides. Organic farming continues to be developed by various organic agriculture organizations today. It relies on fertilizers of organic origin such as compost manure, green manure and bone meal and places emphasis on techniques such as crop rotation and companion planting. Organic farming reduces human and animal health hazards by reducing the level of residues in the product. It helps in keeping agriculture production at higher level and makes it sustainable. We must understand that adopting of organic method of farming not only helps the farmers in getting better prices for their product but also benefits the society in getting healthy food free from synthetic fertilizers and harmful pesticides and insecticides. Not to mention that it reduces the cost of the agricultural products while enhancing the health of the soil. Our past has has taught us that we need to change our farming techniques to achieve a life full of purities and health. We have started a pioneer project to educate the farmers to adopt the latest technique of organic farming where they are encouraged to use only traditional manures and no synthetic fertilizers and pesticides are used. Initially farmers are reluctant to adopt organic farming a they fear the non use of chemical fertilizers may lead to reduction in produce. In order to compensate the farmers of loss in production we at NBF pay them a better price than the market. Use of organic farming also helps in retaining the basic qualities of soil unlike the farming with the synthetic fertilizers. Senseless use of fertilizers and pesticides have contaminated the groundwater thereby causing tremendous health problems to humans and animals alike.
